Want to get booked on more podcasts?
Great.
But there’s something you should know first.
99% of podcast hosts check your online presence before saying yes.
And if your LinkedIn profile is a ghost town?
If you’ve posted nothing but reshared motivational quotes from 2019?
Yeah… that’s a problem.
Because podcast hosts don’t just want guests, they want valuable guests.
It’s a flywheel.
And if you understand how to make it work, you will get booked over and over again.
Here’s how the podcast guest flywheel works:
Step 1: Build your personal brand.
Nobody’s going to invite you on their show if they have no idea who you are.
Hosts want credibility. Authority. Proof that you have something worthwhile to say.
A solid personal brand makes you an obvious YES for podcast bookings.
Otherwise, you’re just a random stranger sliding into their DMs like:
Hey, I’d love to be on your podcast!
Cool. But… who are you? A magician? A time traveler? My long lost cousin?
Give them a reason to care.
Because if a host has to Google you for 10 minutes and still finds nothing?
Yeah… that invite’s not happening.
Step 2: Get on more podcasts.
When your brand is strong, hosts will want you on their show.
And when you deliver a great conversation?
Other hosts notice. More invites roll in.
Step 3: Use your podcast appearances to build your personal brand.
Most guests drop the ball right here.
They show up, have a great chat, and… do nothing with it.
Meanwhile, the smart ones:
Turn their best clips into engaging LinkedIn posts.
Share short form videos across platforms.
Repurpose conversations into long form written content
Keep their audience engaged with consistent visibility.
Step 4: Get booked on even bigger podcasts.
Now the flywheel really kicks in.
More visibility → More credibility → More invitations.
The cycle continues. And soon, you’re the guest everyone wants on their show.
So why does this matter you ask?
The reason I check every potential guest’s LinkedIn is because I want the best possible conversations for my audience.
And guess what? 99% of other hosts do the exact same thing.
So if your personal brand is non existent, you’re making it 10x harder to land guest spots.
