I was stressed,
Not sleeping, not hungry and struggling to give it my all at the gym.
I was worrying about so many things in my business and in my life, 4,000 miles away from home…
Trying to deliver as much value as I could to our clients and forgetting the exact reason we called our business and our movement ‘The Healthy Entrepreneur’.
To be a Healthy Entrepreneur you’ve got to look after yourself and have a healthy business,
You’ve got to think about why a Healthy Entrepreneur SHARES and how we achieve an abundance mindset that allows us to swim when the rest are sinking.
SHARES: Social, Health, Accountability, Reflect, Education, Surroundings
These are the principles by which I run my business and that I expect our clients to be working on, regardless of whether we are performing growth marketing for them, personal branding or strategy calls.
You need to commit to being healthier all around.
We started our company because all the founders we knew were struggling with their health and we knew we could do something about it. We knew we had the business skills to support their growth and our values/experience aligned with the issues they had with their health.
So, imagine my own accountability partners annoyance when I told him my stresses more than a year ago.
He said, “You can not overestimate the unimportance of practically everything” - John Maxwell
From that moment, The Healthy Entrepreneur was truly born. Our movement was created and what we stood for, solidified.
We cut out a lot of what our business did.
Forgot about 80% of the things that didn’t work and doubled down on what was truly important to us.
There are 2 sayings I’m using a lot already in 2024.
One is the one I’ve just mentioned and the other is “never push anything until tomorrow”.
If you live by these two sayings for 6 months, you’ll be surprised by the changes you see.
Cool stuff this week
💡 I spoke to a guy who’s doing over £1m per year from TikTok alone. Because of that, he’s part of a lot of conversations from TikTok HQ and he’s been told it’s going to be their biggest push yet in terms of platform awareness and growth 2024. So, if you aren’t on TikTok, get on there, give us a follow and start creating. Remembering to use our method (3 V’s): Find your voice first, then think about how to gain visibility (what’s working for others), then Value (how can you bridge the gap to your business offers to monetise the audience. If you don’t think it’s the right platform for you, go onto the app and search for KPMG or Deloitte (two of the big 4 accounting firms), both known for their professionalism and you’ll see just how they are growing their audiences. And here’s a tip: videos over 60 seconds long perform better at the time of writing this.
💡 Neil Patel released an awesome insight into email marketing after testing email nurture campaigns for millions of subscribers. He found that when you’re sending an email to nurture a client along your funnel towards buying something, in other words you want someone to take action, you should write between 100-249 words. Effectively, giving us an incredible insight into human behaviour and attention spans. Try it out and let me know how you get on!
💡 In an effort to talk more about my values and why our business is called The Healthy Entrepreneur, I came across an awesome Forbes article about Agile methodology in business and how it can keep you and your team healthier. I’m a big fan of Agile having worked in that way during my corporate career and utilising it now with our team and clients across the 8 or so countries we work in. Have a read here.
