Iâve shared MANYYY cringey posts on LinkedIn.
Yes, Iâm talking about those moments where you hit âpostâ and then question all your life choices.
Youâd rather curl up in a ball and block out the world than face the engagement on your LinkedIn post.
But despite the embarrassment, I can confidently say that sharing my story here has been life changing.
So grab your coffee, and letâs dive into the 3 key lessons Iâve learned from putting my life on LinkedIn!
Whatâs in Todayâs Issue:
The surprising gold mine of LinkedIn.
Why personal stories outshine business jargon.
How to handle the critics (hint: theyâll always be there).
LESSON 1: Your clients are there.
You might be surprised to learn that about HALF of my content revolves around my life experiences.
Yet, weâve managed to build a successful business off the leads generated from this platform.
Hereâs the scoop: Millions of people consume content on LinkedIn⌠However, only a tiny weeny fraction take the plunge to share it.
If you start posting, youâll capture attention.
And remember: that attention can turn into opportunities.
LESSON 2: Personal stories trump business frameworks.
Itâs so easy to fall into the trap of sharing frameworks only.
Now, Iâm not saying âDonât post frameworksâ. But what I am saying is âDonât ONLY post frameworksâ.
Because GUESS WHAT? Those snazzy frameworks are easily forgotten.
Literally think about it...
Guarantee youâll remember a story more than youâll remember a framework. Itâs the narratives that resonate and linger in the mind, not the structured bullet points.
Plus, stories builds trust. And trust leads to sales.
LESSON 3: Criticism comes with the territory.
I wonât sugarcoat it - there were moments when I felt like everyone was out to get me.
Your friends and family give you âbanterâ.
Your old work colleagues start making comments.
You then start to question why youâre building a personal brand.
Yeah, Iâve been there!!
However, itâs amusing how quickly they come crawling back when they see you making waves in the industry!
Iâll stop there. But I could actually write another newsletter on this topic because I know itâll resonate with a lot of you reading this.
Iâve spoken to soooo many founders who have had these issues (and more!), so trust me when I say itâs very common!
Posting on LinkedIn has undoubtedly transformed our business.
So donât leave money on the table because youâre worried about what your old colleague, your mums cousin or your neighbour will say.
Because youâre not doing it for them. Youâre doing it for you.
Hold on, before you go⌠youâre one of 7,283 people receiving this newsletter (and growing). Your feedback is SO important to us!
