Here is the blueprint you need to fail at building a movement and just keep selling your time for money without an easy route to scale. Sound good? Follow these tips:
Don’t show any passion in what you’re doing or building. (You may be passionate about it really, but be sure to not show that, it might be embarrassing)
Be aspirational, not relatable! Don’t let people think they could be like you; make them think you’re much much more successful or clever than you are, that way they’ll think you’re a genius and will definitely buy from you!
Do not be authentic at all costs! Lie about your experience, overinflate your network reach, overhype your solutions and then don’t deliver at all. Oh, bonus tip, do things that you think make you look higher value but you’d never do normally, like taking pictures with super expensive cars, bags etc!
Refuse to be vulnerable. Make sure no one thinks you’ve failed at anything ever, you’re perfect at everything, it’s magic! Then people will definitely copy what you say, because you must be a billionaire, right?
Do not take any action and therefore gain no traction. Keep all your thoughts in your head and try not to ever do anything tangible with them, like launch an offer, add value to your clients or record a podcast!
Finally, this is crucial to failing: Do not, by any means, ever, at all, build any authority around what you sell. You won’t believe this, but if you don’t add any thought leadership, speak at any events, post any opinions or add to the collective data on a topic or your experience or story, you will probably fail at growing a movement. So be sure to avoid doing that. Just post about random things and then offer coaching about something completely unrelated - that’ll do the trick!
