Reminder For Today:
“If you solve what’s in front of you and win at that, you’ll always be one step ahead” - Shan Hanif
In Today’s Issue…
What I would do if I had to start my podcast from scratch.
Speaking to the guy who built Grace Beverly and Iman Gadzhi’s brands.
An exclusive offer for you.
FYI - Today’s newsletter is going to be quite podcast heavy.
My podcast guests have a combined net worth of well over $2 billion.
(and starting it has been the best thing I’ve ever done)
No - I never wanted to actually start a podcast.
The idea of it scared the cr*p out of me. But I did it anyway.
I’ve been doing this podcast for over a year now, and I’ve produced over 80 episodes.
People have listened to them thousands of times.
I’ve had over 50 guests on the show.
And it’s now sponsored.
I started the podcast because I was curious.
I had lots of questions and wanted answers, not just for me but for everyone listening.
My first podcast was with an iPhone, cheap mics and in my living room.
Now, it’s set in Dubai’s best podcasting studio and it’s transformed our business - it’s one of the biggest assets I’ve created.
And now, I’m going to share with you what I’d do if I had to start it all over again...
Let’s dig in:
1/ Strategy
Forget all the growth hacks you hear - podcast strategy is THE most important thing. However, it’s often overlooked because of how unsexy it is.
Without it, you’re genuinely talking about nothing.
So have a think - can your podcast answer these 10 questions:
What problem do you solve?
Who is the podcast for?
Is it educational or entertaining… or both?
How do your guests solve the problems of your listeners?
Are you telling your story?
Are you a student in your show?
Or the expert?
Where are your listeners based?
Is it part of your marketing funnel?
Does it link in with your business or offer?
2/ Growth
Your work is not finished after recording.
It’s not finished after releasing the episode.
In fact.. you’ve only just begun.
You need to build a a roadmap on how you’re going to put together, brand up and distribute your podcast to the world so that it’s aligned with your eco system.
You need to think about your content, the branding, your thumbnails, the production, editing, SEO, hooks, descriptions…. the list goes on but you get my point.
3/ Monetise
Are you making money from your podcast?
If you answered no.. then guess what?
It’s possible!
From advertising your own offers and services, to having sponsorships.. you CAN monetise your podcast.
How do I know?
Because we have.
I’m thinking of releasing something soon that can help you build and monetise your podcast - would you be interested? I’d be looking for 10 people who are serious about growing their podcast.. if that’s you then reply to this email with ‘podcast’ and I’ll add you to the waiting list.
No strings attached.
