In today’s issue…
Fix flat marketing with story arcs.
Hook your audience, keep them engaged.
There’s a story arc staring right at you!!!
(explanation at the end of this email!)
Have you ever found yourself lost in a movie, completely captivated, only to realise that the real magic wasn’t in the special effects.. but in the story itself?
That’s the power of a story arc. And here’s why it’s your marketing’s best friend.
We’re not talking about complex plot twists - just a simple, well-told story that resonates.
If you’re an entrepreneur or a business owner, you’ve probably felt the frustration of putting out content that just doesn’t stick.
You’ve tried every tip, every trick, and still, it feels like you’re shouting into the void.
Here’s the problem: most marketing lacks a story arc.
It’s flat, one-dimensional, and let’s be honest - boring.
Your audience needs more than just facts and figures. They need a journey, an emotional connection, a reason to care.
A story arc in your marketing creates this journey.
It’s the difference between a forgettable ad and a memorable experience.
Are you struggling with:
Flat messaging? You’ve got the info, but no one’s biting. It’s like giving someone a map with no destination.
Disconnected audience? You’re putting out content, but it feels like no one’s listening. Where’s the connection?
Low engagement? Your posts are going out, but the likes, shares, and comments? They’re just not coming in.
What if I told you that the solution isn’t more content, but better content? Content that takes your audience on a journey.
Start with a hook: Just like a great movie, your marketing needs a hook. Something that grabs attention right off the bat. A question, a bold statement, or an intriguing fact - whatever it is, make it irresistible.
Introduce the conflict: What’s the challenge your audience is facing? What’s the pain point? Lay it out clearly. This is where you make them feel understood.
Provide the resolution: Here’s where your product, service, or message comes in as the hero. Show how it solves the problem, relieves the pain, or makes life better.
End with a strong call to action: Every story needs an ending, and yours should lead to action. Make it clear, compelling, and easy to follow.
Did you notice something?
This entire newsletter was written as a story arc.
From the hook to the conflict and resolution, I’ve taken you on a journey.
And guess what? It’s the same journey you can take your audience on.
When done right, a story arc makes your marketing not just memorable, but effective.
So, next time you’re drafting a post, creating an ad, or sending an email, think about the story you’re telling.
Are you taking your audience on a journey?
Are you leading them to a satisfying conclusion?
If not, it’s time to rethink your approach.
Because when you weave a story arc into your marketing, you don’t just communicate - you connect.
P.S. Go back and read this newsletter again. Now that you know it’s a story arc, see how each part plays its role. And remember, if you can do this in your marketing, you’re already ahead of the game.
