In today’s issue…
The truth about success (and what it actually takes).
Why my clients don’t care about going “viral” on LinkedIn.
What real industry leaders are focused on.
Let’s start with a quick reality check about success.
We all know the big brands: Nike, Dropbox, Spotify, Slack, SpaceX.
But here’s what nobody tells you:
Nike was born when a track coach started experimenting with a waffle iron.
Dropbox was founded by a frustrated student who kept losing his USB drive.
Spotify came from two Swedes who were sick of piracy but loved music.
Slack started as a failed gaming company searching for better communication.
SpaceX almost didn’t make it due to rocket explosions and near-bankruptcy.
The truth is success is not some smooth upward climb.
It’s sometimes filled with setbacks, dead ends, and complete disasters.
But guess what?
Those who refuse to quit when things go south are the ones who succeed.
So, the next time a plan goes up in smoke, remember: Every failure is just a stepping stone.
The willingness to push forward, even when the odds are stacked against you, is what really sets you apart.
While we’re on the topic of what sets someone apart, let’s talk about LinkedIn for a moment.
Scroll through your feed, and you’ll see it.
A flood of self-proclaimed “gurus” with their flashy headlines and 10-step formulas to “go viral.”
Every other post feels like a “look at me” carousel of success stories.
But here’s the thing: My clients don’t care about going viral.
They’re not here for internet clout or a 15-second fame grab.
They’re here for something way more meaningful.
They’re out to shape industries, not just profiles.
They’re focused on real impact, not internet fame.
Here’s what my clients are actually after:
· Industry leadership.
They’re not here to be seen; they’re here to be respected
· Raising investment.
Scaling with purpose is more valuable than racking up likes.
· Big exits.
Building legacies beats building “likes.”
· Charitable impact.
Using influence to make a difference is what drives them.
· Top podcast features.
They want to share their stories with audiences that truly matter.
Honestly, credibility trumps visibility every single time.
While the “gurus” are out chasing viral dreams, we’re here to craft legacies, open doors, and make a meaningful impact.
So, here’s to those who choose the road less flashy.
And those who build legacies rather than just profiles.
If that’s you, then know this: You’re already on the right path.
